WARNING! Tsundere President

Chapter 633 - The Best Gift

Yan Se sighed, “You aren’t well in the beginning and now you just got more cuts on your body. I would suggest you rest and stop having a fuss over somebody dead.”

Lu Bai put down his chopsticks and stared at her, “How does Huo Li know I was there? It’s impossible unless—unless you have been watching me, haven’t you?”

Yan Se was scooping some congee into her mouth, “That—Um—uh—well, listen to me, boy. It’s all for your own good. Like, you were almost dead last night, were you not?”

“How long? How long have you been watching me? Have you been watching me this whole time?”

I knew it! No way a bodyguard would let her own target go so easily. There must be a tracking device somewhere on me. I thought it was on my phone. Turns out that it’s the car! How could I miss that?

“Anyway, I did all these to protect you, no matter what. If it was not the situation, we wouldn’t do this. Hey, hey, hey!” Yan Se froze as she watched Lu Bai getting up, “Where are you going?”

“I’m leaving.”

“Leaving?” Yan Se’s brows furrowed as she stood up with her crutch, “Hold it right there, what is the meaning of this? It took us ample effort to bring you back here alive and now you’re heading out to get yourself killed again?”

“Yan Se, thank you for your effort of saving me but I have my own battles to fight. Don’t worry, I won’t do anything harmful to Zhaoyang and Yunting. Ugh...” He sluggishly dragged his legs towards the porch yet upon every step his waist was painful as if stabbed.

“Alright, alright,” said Yan Se, waving him away helplessly, “Go do whatever you want. Never get caught by Xiang Jinxi again, that’s all I can say.”

“...”

And the door quietly shut.

Lu Bai did not take anything with him. Yan Se clumsily walked back to the sofa and sat down. Her legs felt as if being twisted by somebody. To rescue Lu Bai, she requested to have her plaster removed earlier. She was so wrong of her decision when her legs hurt so much after Lu Bai left. It looked like she had to get herself bandaged all over again.

——

Huo Yunting was at Chuan City when he received a message from Yan Se.

[REPORT:

Chen Jiu – Deceased.

Lu Bai – Wounded, Escaped. Destination – Unknown].

And he deleted the message upon a glance, “Are you done yet?” He said as he turned to look at Lu Zhaoyang getting hesitant between a commemorative mug or a commemorative glass. “Have you not been here when you brought Huo Xu traveling the place last time?”

“Nope. I mean, it takes hours to be here. I got to bring something home,” Lu Zhaoyang’s eyes then caught a panda doll nearby, “So, which one? The one with dark circles or this one with flat, darker circles?”

“Are you kidding me? They all look the same.”

Gosh, this is not a car showroom. They are all Panda dolls. How else could they look different apart from their sizes? There’s just S, M, L and XL. You just have to choose one or two.

Lu Zhaoyang squinted her eyes upon him. I knew I shouldn’t have asked this insensitive man. She thought.

Eventually she randomly picked two Pandas, let Huo Yunting swipe his Black American Express and left the gift shop.

“This one’s for Xuxu, this one’s for Yazhi,” she muttered as she placed the dolls accordingly at the back.

“Shall we go?” Said Zhaoyang after getting back to her seat, fastening her seatbelt.

“Ahem, both Xuxu and Yazhi got their gifts. What about me?”

Lu Zhaoyang then wrapped herself with her arms and lifted her eyes upon the great man in the driver’s seat, “Excuse me, President Huo, what kind of gift would you like, may I ask? I’ll get you one now.”

“Well, since you’ve asked so sincerely, I’ll let you go this time without a gift. I’ve got my best gift in my car, anyway,” he said with a brief smile. He liked how his woman changed the past two days.

“What gift? You bought something for yourself?”

When did he? I never saw him buying anything?

Huo Yunting did not reply with words but with a glance instead.

Silly girl. The best gift is obviously you.
