Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!

Chapter 72 - None Of Them

Chapter 72 - None Of Them

When Yvonne heard the options that her father, Rutherford had given her she felt like scoffing out loud.

\'Poetry? Book-keeping? Baking!?\' She found each choice to be more ridiculous than the previous one.

Calming her over-stimulated mind, she shook her head at her father to show that she did not want to choose either of the options that he had given to her.

"None of them, Father." She rejected him and noticed the frown that appeared on his face.

\'She did not call me \'Papa\' but went back to the distant-sounding \'Father\'.\' Rutherford observed and he wasn\'t happy with the changes that had taken place after just a few sentences had been spoken.

"What would Vonna like to learn? Tell PAPA and he will help you find a good tutor." He reassured her while emphasizing on the way how she should continue to address him.

Howard rolled his eyes and he went back to eating his food as he was least bothered about the completely useless classes that she wished to take in the future.

"Yes, Vonny. Mama and Papa will find the best tutors for you!" Raylene chimed in, not wanting her husband to gain all the favors from their beloved daughter.

Rutherford narrowed his eyes at his wife as we tried to hog Vonna\'s attention but decided to stay silent as they were still before their children.

\'I\'ll take care of your boldness later on~\' He smirked and Raylene blushed when she saw the playful glint that passed through his eyes.

Yvonne too noticed the ambiguous air that was forming between her parents who seemed to squeeze in their moments of romance anytime anywhere without even bothering whether their kids were still around or not.

\'Ah… Young love!\' She sighed like an old lady looking at the younger generation flaunting their good relationship before the elders of the family.

Her soft sigh brought their attention back to her and she glanced at them with childlike oblivion which brought a smile to their faces.

"I want to train myself and make myself stronger." She declared what she had decided after her class with Marquess Samed.

Being called \'petite\' had left a deep impression on her mind and she wished to begin her training to better herself.

In her previous life, she was just a few years older than what she was now when her Grandpa Leo started rigorously training her to build her stamina and her endurance.

In this life, she had no plans of putting this little body through the same hellish training routines.

Nevertheless, this did not mean that she could not start with the basic ones and then inch her way back to her former glory.

While she was making a list of the workout routines that this body could withstand without fainting, her parents and her older brother were looking at her as though she had just said the strangest thing in the world.

"What exactly does training mean, Vonna?" Rutherford inquired to make sure that they were both thinking of the same thing.

Training for him meant getting down in the dirt, sweaty and tired while putting his body through a rigorous exercise to keep it fit and in shape.

\'I can\'t say things like cardio and weight training so how should I explain this to them?\' She pondered over her dilemma for a quick second when she got her answer.

"Papa, I want to learn that will help me save myself in times of danger. Like horse riding, wielding a sword, archery, and many more!" Her eyes sparkled as she thought of the fun activities that she had done in her previous life.

All these things would begin by first molding the body to face the training which was exactly what she wanted.

Though in her old world, she had learned fencing instead of yielding a sword she knew that she could learn anything if she put in enough effort.

\'All I need to do is learn these things to help me stay sharp, fit, and to sculpt my figure as I grow older.\' She reckoned and nodded her head.

For some reason, she wasn\'t too bothered about how her figure would turn out as a certain part of her subconscious mind was sure that she would be alright in this regard.

What she was worried about was when in times of danger or at times where she had to defend herself, her piano skill wasn\'t going to help her in the least bit.

\'And my crochet needle isn\'t going to save me if someone tries to kill me!\' She rolled her eyes remembering her tutor for embroidery and crochet who made her work hard every day.

"You have us for that! Why would you even think that you would be in danger when we are still around?" Rutherford\'s dark eyes narrowed as he questioned her making her shiver for a second.

"These are things that boys need to learn in order to defend themselves and the ones dear to them." He explained in a softer way when he saw her flinch at his earlier outburst.

"Vonna, you have me and your big brother to defend you." He glared at Howard until he gave a reluctant nod of agreement.

\'But that is also the problem here!\' She remarked when she heard his comforting words.

\'Though I pray that nothing bad has taken place but I don\'t know what truly happened to this family after the original timeline began.\' She frowned while recalling the script she had read.

\'How exactly will you be there to protect me when you weren\'t mentioned much in the story?\' She wished to question them back but knew that they were just as clueless as she was.

"And after you are married, your husband will be the one to protect you so there is absolutely no need for you to go through all this trouble." Raylene pitched in with a smile on her face.

However, hearing the word \'husband\' the rest of the family members froze.

Howard and Rutherford had an irksome feeling arise in their hearts when they heard Raylene mentioning Yvonne\'s future husband.

The father and son shared a glance almost immediately before looking away from each other.

\'What was that just now?\' Howard wondered why they had that unspoken agreement of keeping a watch over any guy who dared to come closer to their family\'s Yvonne.

While on the other side of the table, Yvonne\'s fists were tightly clenched under the table.

\'That is the person whom I would like to defend myself from! I need to have the stamina to run far away from him if I ever meet him\' She sneered in her mind when she heard those horrifying words.

Controlling her angry emotions, she took a deep breath and then shook her head.

"I was wrong to say that." She accepted her defeat without putting up much of a fight.
