A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 66

Usually, he got this kind of feeling when he missed something, and that something would cause him to feel tremendously guilty. They were safe on this island, and no one could harm him or his little family, so why with this anxious feeling?

Richard ordered his digital program to report on the area security only to find nothing suspicious. He also tried to monitor his wife and Lori’s activities. He could only breathe a sigh of relief when he heard reports that his wife was now wandering around looking for their daughter’s room.

It seemed that Anxia was determined to find their daughter’s room. The girl was even willing to ask every maid she met without throwing a tantrum.

At least, Anxia’s main focus shifted to their daughter. Or so he thought.

In truth, Anxia wished to meet her daughter because it might be the last time she could see her baby’s face. However, she couldn’t find any clue where Lori’s room was, and she almost had the urge to ask Richard.

The man must have known where their daughter’s room was because he had arranged the place of all of them since they came to this place.

However, Anxia didn’t want to ask the man, and she felt the man would take advantage of her if she asked him for help.

In the end, Anxia decided to ask the butler.

.....

“Forgive me, madam. But the master ordered not to tell you the place of the young lady’s room. If you want to know, please look for the master and ask him yourself.”

After answering according to Richard’s favor, the butler bowed his head slightly and left to continue with his work, leaving Anxia frozen in disbelief at what she had just heard.

Anxia stroked her forehead in frustration while cursing Richard in her heart.

How could there be someone so annoying, shameless, and always able to raise her tension?

Anxia took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She did it a few times to calm her raging heart that was on the verge of exploding were it not for her excellent self-control.

Anxia strode with vast strides towards her room without any expression. She knew that every corner of this place had CCTV cameras ready to catch her. She even believed there was a small program that would report everything about her to Richard.

Even if she managed to hijack these cameras, there would still be many eyes monitoring her behavior, and she couldn’t hide her actions.

Living in a castle like this may be a dream for other girls because they can get the services of a royal princess and enjoy all the luxuries provided.

But to Anxia, ??this place was a prison. Her movements were monitored, she couldn’t go outside, and also... she couldn’t access her secret dark web.

She literally was not imprisoned, considering Anxia was free to walk wherever she pleased and around this island. But this island was in the middle of nowhere with no ships or boats.

She couldn’t leave and only could stay on the same island for god knows how long.

Why not a single boat dock at the dock even though there was a pier on the edge of the island?

Anxia wanted to leave this place as soon as possible. If she didn’t know that master Yu had captured Ling Meng, perhaps she wouldn’t mind staying in this place with Lori and that shameless perverted man.

But now she knows the truth, and Ling Meng’s life was on the line; how could she ignore it? Anxia would be consumed by guilt if she got news of her death when she hadn’t tried to save her.

That was why, tonight, when everyone had fallen asleep, she would sneak out to begin his crossing.

Anxia closed her bedroom door and then leaned against the door with a desperate face. Only in this room does he not need to control her face, and there were no CCTV or spies to monitor her movements.

“Mommy?”

Anxia gasped when she heard the tiny voice she had been wanting to hear. The room was huge, almost as big as a five-star hotel lobby.

Therefore Anxia wasn’t sure whether what she heard was her hallucination. She walked slowly through the dividing wall between the door and her bedroom. Only then did she see a pair of green-purple eyes staring at her cheerfully and a big smile that was able to get rid of all the fatigue and burden on her shoulders.

“Mommy!” Lori exclaimed happily as she stretched out her arms towards her.

“Lori,”

Without waiting any longer, Anxia rushed to her bed to hug her daughter. There was a feeling of guilt when she remembered the incident a few hours ago where she almost hurt her daughter with her own hands.

“Since when have you been here? I thought you were in your room.”

Lori chuckled, “Just now, mom. Daddy said you are unhappy and asked me to comfort you. Did you not see him when you came in here?”

What? Richard just walked into this room to let her meet Lori?

Didn’t the guy say he wouldn’t allow her to see Lori? What made the man change his mind? Or maybe he was bluffing?

“Mommy, what makes you sad?” the gentle smacking of her daughter’s tiny hand against her cheek made Anxia unable to keep her feelings a secret.

“I’m sad that I can’t help Aunty Meng Meng.”

“Did something happen to her?”

“I don’t know. But the bad guys caught her right now. I don’t know... if she’ll be alright, or...”

“Why couldn’t you do something to help her? Well, if you can’t do it, why don’t you ask dad for help?”

Anxia lowered her head to hide her pessimistic smile. Ask Richard for help? It was precisely because of that man that it was difficult for her to save Ling Meng!
