A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 73

Their current sitting position was also different from before.

Usually, Richard and Anxia would sit facing each other while Lori was seated in a toddler chair at the end of the table, where her parents were on two opposite sides. But now, their sitting positions were lined up with Lori flanked by her parents.

Richard had deliberately arranged this sitting position so that he could touch his wife’s head whenever he wanted while tucking his body to see the two women he cared about at once.

Anxia didn’t throw a childish tantrum, and Richard didn’t tease his wife, making the morning atmosphere calm and peaceful.

Richard even fed his wife affectionately, and the girl accepted it willingly.

He fed pieces of watermelon and melon by sticking a fork at Anxia and Lori in turn. The maids who saw this were astonished at their new madam’s attitude.

The first day they came here, the young mistress screamed and made trouble with the maids. Anxia deliberately found trivial mistakes in the maids and then scolded them for no apparent reason, making them feel afraid to meet her.

Ah, if Anxia weren’t their master’s wife, they would hate Anxia and repay her for what she did.

.....

Then on the second day, Anxia smashed and shattered the antiques in the book room. On the third day, their wild mistress now seems tame.

Did something happen last night? Or did their master’s wife have a disorder they didn’t know about?

Anxia could feel the gazes full of curiosity at the maids at the end of the dining hall, but she didn’t care.

She could understand their confusion because she herself would be confused by the drastic change in the character of someone she didn’t know.

Anxia still couldn’t even believe the change in her own feelings.

She still remembered and believed she felt irritated whenever Richard stole a chance to touch her. Anxia recalled she always thought of a plan to kill this man whenever Richard irritated her.

She killed him thousand times in her head, but now...

Just feeding her fruit, hugging her shoulders, or occasionally tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, these small gestures made her heart tingle in a weird yet pleasant way.

She knew her feelings for Richard had changed, but she had no idea what these feelings meant. Anxia had never felt this feeling before, and she had never even remembered how it felt to be loved by a family. Therefore, she doesn’t know the proper term to describe her feelings.

“Mommy? Why are you silent today?”

“Nothing.” Anxia helped her daughter clean the biscuit crumbs stuck to her daughter’s mouth.

“Are you tired?”

“Might be,” Anxia replied perfunctorily, not wanting to make her daughter wonder any more than this.

“Does that mean I’m going to have a baby brother?” cried Lori innocently but with an undeniable passion.

Cough... cough...

Richard chuckled as he watched his wife choking on her food at their daughter’s innocent question.

“My lovely baby girl, why do you think you will have a baby brother if she is tired?”

“Calydta said you would do something to mom so she would be exhausted. If that happens, I will soon have a baby brother.”

Anxia stared widely at her daughter, hearing the little girl’s explanation.

Who is Calydta? Where is she now? Anxia was eager to teach her a lesson for spouting nonsense to her daughter.

In contrast to Anxia, who felt angry and wanted to punish a person named Calydta, Richard wanted to give this woman a bonus.

“But, daddy. What did you do to mommy until she was exhausted?”

Once again, Anxia choked from swallowing her saliva at the wrong time. Anxia glanced at Richard with a warning look that made Richard want to tease his wife instead.

“Yesterday, she and I...”

“Lori, didn’t you say you wanted to go to the beach yesterday?” Anxia interrupted Richard’s sentence and immediately turned her daughter’s attention away. “We can fly kites with daddy. Didn’t he promise to teach you how to fly a kite?”

Lori’s purple-green eyes lit up with enthusiasm at this. Lori immediately turned to her father, asking for confirmation of her mother’s statement.

Richard suppressed an amused smile when he saw Anxia and her daughter staring with similar expressions. One begged him to keep his promise to fly a kite, while the other looked at him pleadingly not to continue the words she cut off.

Lori’s face was more similar to his, but the girl’s expression and the way she stared with her eyes were exactly like her mother’s.

“Okay, we’re going to the beach after this.”

“Yey!” Lori raised her hands above her head while exclaiming happily.

Lori no longer remembered or was curious about her parents’ activities last night and focused more on finishing her breakfast quickly.

After breakfast, Richard took Anxia and Lori out past the grassy and rocky plants until they finally came to the sandy ground leading to the beach.

The weather that day was very sunny but not too superheated. The wind was also blowing quite hard, but it didn’t make them shiver from the cold, so they dared to wear comfortable casual clothes.

This weather was the perfect day for kite flying.

Richard summoned Calydta and a male servant to accompany them to play on the beach. Richard sat on the sand while Lori stood on his lap carrying a spool of thread that hooked the kite.

The kite was so big that it could cover Lori’s tiny frame. The shape was also pleasing to the eye because it was an image of a butterfly which was Lori’s favorite animal.

The color of the butterfly kite was fuschia mixed with golden-colored lines on the edge of the kite.

Lori was undoubtedly excited to see her beautiful butterfly fly high into the sky.

Meanwhile, Anxia stood beside Richard, watching how her husband helped their daughter hold the spool of thread.

She recalled that when she was a toddler, she also often played kites with her father.

‘Xiao Xia, don’t hold the thread, or you’ll hurt your hand. Just hold the scroll tool.’

“Lori, don’t hold the thread, or you’ll hurt your hand. Just hold the scroll tool.”

Anxia gasped when she heard the soft voice of her husband talking to their daughter.

Not only the way he spoke, but the man’s words were also the same as her father’s.

Would all the fathers in this world do this to their daughters?

“Waaaah!!” Lori exclaimed happily, breaking Anxia’s reverie.

With the help of a male servant who ran with a kite to fly with the strong wind, the pink butterfly-shaped kite flew up into the blue sky.

After Lori got used to holding the spool to control the kite, Richard removed an arm to let his daughter take complete control.

Then he glanced at Anxia, who was looking at the kites flying freely in the sky.

Anxia felt someone gently holding her hand, making her lower her head to look at the owner of the hand holding her hand.

“Come here,” Richard said with a gentle smile that made Anxia’s heart tingle strangely.

But Anxia complied, sat beside Richard, and let the man put his arm around her shoulder closer. When Richard planted a warm kiss on the top of her head, Anxia felt electricity running from the top of her head down to her feet.

She felt like her heart would explode because she had never handled a heartbeat so wild as this.

Anxia felt like she was on a dangerous mission for the first time, raising the adrenaline and the tension from all the nerves in her muscles. Strangely, she felt comfortable with this feeling, especially when Richard urged her head rests on his firm shoulder, making her feel like she was sleeping and having sweet dreams.

What is this feeling? Is she sick? It looks like she needs to see a doctor. Anxia thought in astonishment.

“When are you going to explain it to me?”

“Explain what?” Richard knew very well what his wife was asking, but he pretended not to know and asked in return.

“You know what I mean.” Anxia scolded without straightening up because she was already comfortable leaning her head on her husband’s shoulder.

“Oh, that one? For me, anytime is a good day. I’m just waiting for you.”

“Ha?” What is he talking about?

Anxia couldn’t help but straighten up to look at her husband without breaking away from the man’s embrace that was still perched comfortably around the back of her shoulder.

“I didn’t know you wanted to give Lori a baby brother so badly.” Richard brushed his nose against Anxia’s affectionately.

His action caused her heartbeat to pound wildly, but his words stunned her.

Ha? Who wants to give Lori a baby brother?

Unfortunately for her, Lori heard her father’s last words, causing Lori to exclaim happily without giving Anxia a chance to refute.

“I’m going to have a baby brother? When? When will my brother come? Today? Tomorrow? Next week? Next month?”
